I don’t mind holding your purse and all the clothes you’re going to try out eventually..... BUT!!!
To my fellow OPPOnauts that are not into going to malls or shopping centers but kind of have to Because we love our little ladies :] Usually, there is at least one boyfriend/husband chair somewhere in the store. You look around for a while and once you find it, it’s always taken by one lucky dude. Lately now that my wife is here in the America with me though, I’ve noticed that it’s not even there all together.
I guess she notices the same thing when I go shopping for..... wait, I get everything online lol :]
Still, it is very odd when you see a fellow dude holding all of his lady’s things with such a gloomy look on his face. Oh you know that look. You can tell he’s just thinking, “aaaargggg hurrry aarrrghhh!”
LIGHT BULB!!!
So.... obviously, why don’t architects build a room in every clothes/shoe/accessory store that features a:
-Tool box
-Junk Yard Car on jack stands
-And a sheet on the wall with various duties that can be done while she is shopping. From easy things like, “R&R door panel and window regulator.” to “replace valve guide seals” or “rebuild rear diff”.
You arrive to the store and your wife checks you in with the babysitter attendant in charge. Once she’s done, she can pick you up and you can head to the next store :]
Genius? I think YES!!!!
Only problem I see is that most of the younger dudes out there are the type of chaps that wouldn’t know what to do if you tell them to hand you a T27 security torx on a 1/4 to 3/4 adapter or a feeler gauge. But besides that, it’s win win :]
Also, our ladies are kind of relying on our opinion on clothes while shopping. Why? We don’t know anything and it will be more of a surprise once we see you in your new skirt dress shirt thingy :]
Thoughts?
Ladies, any concerns?

Is this woman your significant other or your mother?

someone is single huh? lol :]
She rules the house homie. Fact. Science.

I usually either A) wander off to the lego store and leave her to it or B) misbehave until she’s forced to leave (trying on bras in particular annoys her). Your idea is much better though.

“That look”.
I think you have a great idea with the car parts thing.
![]() 06/30/2015 at 16:07 |

Would be a good idea, but what is the store gonna do with the car once it is complete? I sure as shit wouldn't drive something that 500 random people put together while waiting for their gf/wife was shopping. I think a chair and a cooler full of beer would be better.

Seconded, however, I am one of those unfortunate souls who has only gone as far as replacing air bags with coil springs, changing oil, draining a transmission, and in depth detailing. Although when I was young I got to “help” my dad rebuild a rear diff on a pre-Taco Toyota 4x4.

classic tactics :] But they adapt to them eventually.

lol awesome picture :] Again, I don’t mind, but if such a room existed..... happy times by all

I have one huge concern!!! I’ll want to work on the car when I’m finished with my shopping. :P
![]() 06/30/2015 at 16:12 |
|
It would be “take things off/ put thing on” sort of situation instead of a “lets fix this car” job. A room full of yummy beer would be better duh, but so is just doing random things to a random car. Think McDonalds play place for bored as hell husbands :]

I was in a record store the other day and I saw a private “try before you buy” booth in the porn section. To appeal to more men, how about a similar room that locks from the inside so your wife can’t catch you? Louis CK always talks about not being able to masturbate after marriage. I think this would work. It would stimulate the economy, at least.
![]() 06/30/2015 at 16:13 |

It’s never complete. An employee would take a few bottles of saline solution, and spritz every crevasse of exposed metal. While doing so, they would key the car and spritz that as well. Bodywork is still work.

That is why the Jobs List will vary in all sorts of project and skill levels. I;m sure we can all learn something new at every store.
![]() 06/30/2015 at 16:16 |

lol!!! Welp, there are plenty of challenges for that to work. The Louis CK bit on that is sooo damn funny lol!

Mine hasnt yet in 6 years so hopefully she wont adapt to them haha.
![]() 06/30/2015 at 16:17 |

lol well we’ll make sure to add some hooks on the wall so you can hang your shopping bags and get wrenching :]

I’d prefer some Gran Turismo or Forza, a cold beer, and a wall of Hot Wheels to browse.

Great idea. Probably will be tried & ruined by Richard Rawlings.

but of course sir! GT and Forza room was a idea as well :] I got a funny story to tell on LaLD a little later about HotWheels at a store.

I think this is a pretty damn smart idea. Maybe in lieu of bringing a car in, they could bring in a couple of old coin-op classics like Pac Man/Donkey Kong or a more modern classic like Mortal Kombat/Street Fighter
![]() 06/30/2015 at 16:22 |
|
A different classic arcade in every store is also an extremely rad idea. Plus, revenue for participating stores

Don’t forget Couture coveralls
Bitches needs to be bedazzled sunnnn.
Edit: Hopefully this reads as me being silly and not offensive :(

If this is the Lego store in the Metrocentre I’ve probably seen you in there. I’m the big guy that stands and stares at this banal unobtanium.

It would stimulate the economy
Is that what the kids are calling it nowadays? It was just called a dingaling in my day.

YOU'RE A GENIUS!

Sure is. I spent most of my time almost buying the Millenium Falcon. They didn’t have it last time I went in so I occupied myself by almost buying the Ecto 1.

Hang on 1/4 to 3/4 adapter for a T27 security torx? I... What?

You should periscope them and take Oppo with you, lol

THEY HAVE A LEGO ECTO 1 IN THERE??
Goddamnit, I need to go shopping more.

We are still deciding. Austin for sure. We can kill 2 birds with one stone in Mexico DF since we can visit her family. But, maybe it will be a mess and should wait to hear what people say next year.. We have our tickets for Lone Star LeMans already. She found her C7.R shirt and hat online, just waiting til payday to order them.

I love shopping. Lately, it’s been hard to find brightly colored (what I like) clothes in stores that are big enough for me, so I have to go to online places like 6PM.
In terms of cars, I know nothing about working on them, and I love clothes, so I’d just stick with a normal closest. I’m sorry, man. :(
(I’m male, by the way)

can’t wait for LoneStar LeMans. It is a million times more entertaining than F1 in person.
Da noise!!!!!!!

You’re not alone. I’m allergic to manual labor and enjoy the occasional
shopping
buying shit trip. But I care more about neck ties. I too end up having to order clothes generally (stores might have a big and tall section, but they don’t have a biggish but mostly tall section). I have a pretty dull closet to say the least excepting my neck ties.
I love looking at cars, I love driving cars, but working on them is right out.
